About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Advisor, Distribution Optimization Engineering to join our team at Enbridge Inc. This role is responsible for hydraulic system models for assigned regions of Enbridge Gas Inc. (EGI) and analyzing and forecasting short and long-range distribution system operating and infrastructure requirements under varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of hydraulic system models assigned.
  • Analyze changes in customer load profiles and incorporate these changes into the load gathering program and network analysis design standards.
  • Examine, design, and analyze the effects of various system alterations on system integrity and reliability, and propose new or altered infrastructure or plans.
  • Provide consultation to internal groups, such as Stations Engineering, Operations, Gas Control, Construction, Asset Management, Integrity, Sales, etc.
  • Evaluate impacts to the system when new customer connections or customer growth are identified.
  • Support the Supervisor and Senior Engineer/Advisor in DOE, Capital Development, and other teams for large reinforcement projects.
  • Analyze and forecast short and long-range distribution system operating and infrastructure requirements under varying conditions.
  • Create contingency plans and network impact reports to ensure system reliability and minimize system disruption.
  • Provide emergency on-call support for field forces to respond to system emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Related university degree and 4+ years of experience (engineering preferred), OR 6+ years of previous field operations experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of various computer software programs, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Detailed knowledge of Design & Records, Operation & Maintenance, and Construction policies and procedures.
  • Effective working relationships with peers and internal/external customers.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

This role requires emergency on-call support for field forces to respond to system emergencies. The Advisor, Distribution Optimization Engineering serves as a key contact for field staff and is accountable to provide accurate record information, network analysis, customer information, system isolation information, and other distribution planning information during system emergencies.
