Your Challenge

We are seeking an Environmental Technologist to join our team in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, hardworking, and passionate about the hazardous materials and environmental assessment field.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct building investigations for hazardous materials, including asbestos, designated substances, and mould;
  • Collect air and bulk samples during the abatement of hazardous materials;
  • Provide technical reporting for projects involving the abatement of hazardous materials;
  • Conduct on-site investigations of air quality, including indoor and outdoor air quality sampling and monitoring;
  • Analyze phase contrast microscopy (PCM) air samples for airborne fibers using NIOSH 7400 method;
  • Interpret laboratory analytical results;
  • Prepare written technical reports pertaining to surveys, site investigations, and abatement monitoring;
  • Complete Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and Phase II ESAs);
  • Environmental Site Remediation (Underground Storage Tank Removals, Soil and/or Groundwater Remediation Oversight);
  • Groundwater and surface water sampling;
  • Liaise and communicate with clients and troubleshoot issues independently;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Skills and Qualifications We Seek

  • College diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field;
  • Experience in environmental consulting, designated/hazardous materials surveys, and environmental site assessments;
  • Knowledge of designated substance regulations and environmental site assessment regulations;
  • Strong communication and writing skills, including the ability to write technical reports;
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups and independently;
  • Highly motivated and able to work well within a team environment;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work weekends and nights as required.
