Your Challenge

EXP's London office is currently seeking an Environmental Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment. This opportunity will be best suited for individuals that are self-motivated, hardworking, and passionate about the hazardous materials and environmental assessment field.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conducting building investigations for hazardous materials, including asbestos, designated substances, and mould;
  • Collecting air and bulk samples during the abatement of hazardous materials;
  • Providing technical reporting for projects involving the abatement of hazardous materials;
  • On-site investigations of air quality, including indoor and outdoor air quality sampling and monitoring;
  • Analyzing air samples for airborne fibers using NIOSH 7400 method;
  • Interpreting laboratory analytical results;
  • Preparing written technical reports pertaining to surveys, site investigations, and abatement monitoring;
  • Completing Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and Phase II ESAs);
  • Environmental Site Remediation (Underground Storage Tank Removals, Soil and/or Groundwater Remediation Oversight);
  • Groundwater and surface water sampling;
  • Liaising and communicating with clients and troubleshooting issues independently at the client site;
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities We Seek

  • College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field;
  • Experience in Environmental Consulting, Designated/Hazardous Materials Surveys, and Environmental Site Assessments is preferred;
  • Knowledge of Designated Substance Regulations and Environmental Site Assessment Regulations is an asset;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced client services environment with developed client service skills is an asset;
  • Strong communication and writing skills, including the ability to write technical reports;
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary groups as well as independently;
  • Highly motivated and able to work well within a team environment;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills;
  • Must be available to work during weekends and nights, as required.
