Job Title: Specialized Caregiver Supports

Job Summary:

Axis Family Resources Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialized Caregiver Supports to join our team. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals residing in Specialized Supportive Housing in Kelowna, Penticton, or Vernon, BC.

About the Role:

As a Specialized Caregiver Supports, you will be responsible for promoting a positive and healthy environment that supports our persons served towards achieving educational, social, and recreational goals while focusing on daily life skills development. You will work closely with our team to provide individualized support and care, using a trauma-informed practice to build and maintain healthy relationships with our persons served.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and care to persons served, focusing on daily life skills development and promoting a positive and healthy environment.
  • Work closely with our team to provide trauma-informed care and support, building and maintaining healthy relationships with our persons served.
  • Assist persons served with daily tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Support persons served in achieving their goals and objectives, including educational, social, and recreational activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in providing trauma-informed care and support.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in social services or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Related experience in working with vulnerable populations or behavioral challenges will also be considered an asset.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver's licence.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered).
  • Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) training and certification provided.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
