As a Head Skate Instructor, you will play a key role in shaping the skating experience for children and youth at YMCA Calgary. We are seeking an experienced instructor to lead our team of instructors and volunteers, ensuring that our programs provide an introduction to participants in physical literacy through skating.

About the Role
  • Provide leadership to instructors and members participating in registered programs or drop-in activities.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following policies & procedures to manage risks associated with skating experiences.
  • Lead a team of instructors and volunteers to develop fundamental movement skills through skating programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and/or Can Skate Certification as an asset.
  • Customer Service experiences.
  • Supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage and adjust to changing environments.
  • 3-5 years' experience teaching skate lessons to children and youth.
  • Current First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the last 12 months).
  • Evidence of a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector search.
Benefits and Compensation

This position offers an estimated salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
