Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Care Counselling Professional to join our team at Cyc Net.

About the Role

This full-time position will involve teaching and service, with an emphasis on teaching in one or more of the following areas: child and youth care professional practice competencies, counselling, assessment and intervention skills, trauma-informed practice knowledge, human rights, policy and research, and program design.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge and familiarity with anti-bias curriculum design, program development, and Indigenous ways of knowing. A proven commitment to decolonization and equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion practice is essential.

A PhD in Child and Youth Care Counselling or a related discipline is preferred; a Master's degree is required. The ideal candidate will have previous post-secondary or related teaching experience and a minimum of five years of experience working in Child and Youth Care.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching courses in Child and Youth Care Counselling

Developing and implementing course materials

Mentoring students

Engaging in service activities within the Mount Royal communityRequirements

  • Master's Degree in Child and Youth Care Counselling or a related field
  • PhD in Child and Youth Care Counselling or a related discipline (preferred)
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in Child and Youth Care
  • Previous post-secondary or related teaching experience
  • Eligibility for membership with the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta

An estimated salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on location and experience, is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
