We are seeking a highly skilled Homeless Housing Specialist - Pest Control and Environmental Cleanliness to join our team at Homes First Society. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for minimizing and eliminating bedbug/pest infestations and hoarding issues in our shelter and housing facilities. They will work closely with our Shelter and Housing teams to ensure adherence to our mission statement, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of best practices for bed bug, pest, and hoarding issues
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to maintain co-operative working relationships with Shelter and Housing staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain bed bug/pest control tools and equipment in good condition
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Several years' experience working with people who are homeless, under-housed, and hard to house
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact positively with tenants who have experienced homelessness, mental health, and addiction problems
