This position reports to the Nurse Manager or Department Head and involves providing direct nursing care to patients in hospitals or communities. Our services are guided by competency guidelines, policies, and standards for nursing practice set by BC College of Nurses and Midwives.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • At least 2 years of recent Critical Care nursing experience or completion of an accredited Critical Care course.
  • Demonstrated ability in arrhythmia interpretation, with a score of at least 75% on the VIHA ECG Challenge exam.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy) are considered assets.
Key Responsibilities

The Primary Care Nurse Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Organizing workload and setting priorities.
  • Effectively interacting with various stakeholders, including co-workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, and families.
  • Maintaining physical fitness to perform job duties.

With a salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, this opportunity offers a competitive compensation package and the chance to work with a dedicated healthcare team.
