About the Opportunity

Baptist Housing is a leading provider of long-term care, assisted living, and independent living communities in British Columbia. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Care Specialist.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide exceptional nursing care to our residents while working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care services, including assessing residents' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing interventions to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery, coordinate transfers and admissions, and facilitate resident discharges.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, medications administered, and treatments provided.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to departmental goal-setting, and engage in ongoing education and training to enhance professional development.
Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess:

  • A current registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience working in a long-term care or gerontological setting, preferably with a focus on complex care.
  • Demonstrated expertise in medication administration, wound care, and pressure ulcer prevention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $41-$91 per hour, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, a municipal pension plan, and opportunities for professional development.
