We are seeking a skilled Advanced Claims Specialist to join our team at 570 The Dominion of Canada General. As a key member of our claims handling team, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving complex liability claims in accordance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills: Use your expertise to analyze complex claim scenarios, identify potential risks, and develop effective strategies for resolution.
  • Effective Communication: Build strong relationships with insureds, claimants, and other stakeholders through clear and concise communication, ensuring timely and fair resolution of claims.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in insurance law, regulatory requirements, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to make informed decisions on claim resolutions.
  • Litigation Management: Manage litigated claims efficiently, developing litigation plans with counsel and ensuring effective resolution while minimizing costs.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of claim handling experience, with 5-7 years of experience handling serious injury and complex liability claims.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation and customer service skills, advanced skills in coverage, liability, and damages analysis, and expert understanding of the litigation process in all Canadian jurisdictions.
