Job Title: Supervisor, Painters and Decorators

Modish Construction Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor, Painters and Decorators to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the work of our painters and decorators, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of painters and decorators, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare production reports and provide regular updates to management.
  • Recruit, train, and develop the skills of painters and decorators, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, including ordering materials and equipment, and ensuring that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.
  • Oversee apprenticeship training and ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities, newcomers, and refugees, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the skills of others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to health and safety.
