Accounting and Financial Operations Director
At CharityVillage, we are seeking an experienced Accounting and Financial Operations Director to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in upholding the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and communicating with vendors and clients as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts by recording journal entries, reconciling balances, and performing monthly and year-end closing procedures.
- Assist in the preparation for annual financial audits, including gathering documentation, answering inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making processes and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Stay abreast of relevant accounting regulations and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local financial reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a non-profit setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Adagio) and Microsoft Excel; strong understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team, with effective leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage accounting professionals.
