About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at 2580737 Ontario Inc. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and Install Drywall: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to create smooth and even surfaces.
  • Apply Coats of Compound and Sand: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Install Ornamental Plaster Panels and Trim: Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add decorative elements to our projects.
  • Supervise and Instruct: Supervise and instruct apprentices and other workers to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each project to ensure that we stay within budget.
  • Operate Heavy Machinery: Operate heavy machinery, such as scaffolding and falsework, to ensure safe and efficient access to work areas.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure that our work meets the required standards.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and related tasks.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player.
