The Fleet Maintenance Strategist at AFD Petroleum plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, enhancing productivity, and ensuring high-quality customer satisfaction.

This key position involves strategic planning and leadership of fleet maintenance operations, overseeing maintenance facilities, mechanics, scheduling, and administration. The role demands effective management of the maintenance team to achieve business objectives.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes and procedures for improved company performance.
  • Implement a scheduling system for preventative fleet maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Prepare vehicle specifications according to fleet needs and requirements.
  • Direct off-site maintenance, repair, and recovery services for roadside vehicle malfunctions.
  • Monitor departmental performance against set goals and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Collaborate with department heads/management to resolve inter-departmental issues and drive business results.
  • Create, monitor, and report on weekly and monthly logistics key performance indicators to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Evaluate and recommend staffing levels to meet departmental requirements and ensure adequate resource allocation.
  • Enhance and develop policies, procedures, and systems to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintain open communication channels with employees, drivers, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide solutions.
  • Provide regular updates on work orders and relevant information to facilitate seamless data access across departments.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Offer exceptional customer support for inquiries, equipment requirements, or service requests.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email required for effective communication and documentation.
  • Proven management and/or supervisory experience in technical roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Experience

A minimum of 3+ years' experience in management roles within the fuel, transportation, or oil and gas industry.

Education

Possession of a post-secondary degree in Management is preferred, while a High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. Holding a Class 1 Driver's License is an asset.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, based on industry standards and location considerations.
