About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, focusing on geriatrics and palliative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing services to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures, within the defined scope of practice.
  • Administer medications and conduct specimen collection, ensuring infection control and observing and recording medication's therapeutic and side effects.
  • Monitor patients' progress and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, consulting with the healthcare team as needed.
  • Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, promoting healthy living and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our residents.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work.
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Geriatrics and palliative care experience an asset.
