About the Role

The Municipality of North Cowichan is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Transportation and Drainage team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for coordinating all engineering projects and ensuring seamless planning and execution throughout the municipality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Director of Engineering in overseeing the development and implementation of engineering projects
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager, Engineering (Utilities - Water and Sanitary Systems) to ensure effective project management and budgeting
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the design, construction, and maintenance of transportation and drainage infrastructure
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project management and budget management
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to present complex technical and financial information to senior leadership and Council
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and overseeing the work of consultants
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
