Job Description

Job Title: Automation Controls Engineering Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers in building, maintaining, and evolving our automation and control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching, developing, and advising engineers on their work to ensure solutions meet business needs and align with technology strategies and emerging industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead/manage a team of engineers and oversee related engineering analysis activities and deliverables.
  • Provide overall team leadership, training, coaching, development, succession, recruitment, and resource management.
  • Execute introducing engineering tools, methodologies, and processes across the enterprise.
  • Work with vendor platform providers and engineering peers to stay up-to-date on trends, products, frameworks, and applications.
  • Engage executive stakeholders to review progress and obtain input, validation, and approval of key decisions.
  • Anticipate client needs to influence the development of innovative engineering solutions and business strategies.

Requirements:

  • University or post-graduate degree.
  • Strong academic background in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years as a software engineering manager delivering software in a mainframe tech stack and 5+ years of experience working on mainframe.
  • Knowledge of IMS and mainframe/host integration with mid-tier APIs and customer-facing channels is preferred.
