Automation Controls Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers and technology specialists. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering analysis activities and deliverables, providing team leadership, training, and coaching, and executing on engineering strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead/manage a team of Engineers/Technology Specialists and oversee related engineering analysis activities and deliverables.
- Provide overall team leadership, training, coaching, development, succession, recruitment, and resource management, ensuring ongoing performance feedback and assessments occur and development plans exist for each team member.
- Execute introducing engineering tools, methodologies, and processes across the enterprise.
- Execute on Engineering strategy as it relates to the introduction of tools and the automation of build, test, release, and configure activities across Application, Platform, and Infrastructure.
- Work with vendor platform providers and engineering peers to keep abreast of trends, products, frameworks, and applications.
- Engage executive stakeholders appropriately to review progress and obtain input, validation, and approval of key decisions.
- Anticipate client needs to influence the development of innovative engineering solutions as well as business strategies.
Requirements:
- University or post-graduate degree.
- Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering).
- 7+ years relevant experience with 3+ years as software engineering manager delivering software in a mainframe tech stack and 5+ years experience working on mainframe.
- Knowledge of IMS and mainframe/host integration with mid-tier APIs and customer-facing channels is preferred.
