ATS Automation is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Design Specialist to join our team. The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced electrical control systems designer to work on complex projects involving industrial automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing complete electrical design packages, including schematics, panel layouts, bills of materials, and material requisitions.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with mechanical designers to design control systems that meet customer specifications and safety standards.
  • Formulate and produce detailed electrical design packages, including schematics, cable routing diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Specify electrical and controls-related hardware and software, and prepare requisitions for material purchases.
  • Integrate third-party equipment and electronic components into electrical design packages.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of electrical design packages before issuing them to the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to solve problems and provide training specific to their current project.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A post-secondary technology diploma or engineering degree in electronics, electrical, or controls technology.
  • At least three years of experience in electrical control systems design, preferably in the industrial automation field.
  • A working knowledge of ePlan and AutoCAD, as well as the ability to stay up-to-date with leading-edge technology.
