Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our renewable energy development team in Ontario and potentially other regions across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support agrivoltaics research and development, including attending webinars and preparing written summaries of materials.
  • Assist with community engagement activities, such as preparing articles and responding to comments on social media, and drafting responses to questions and concerns from the community.
  • Contribute to various project development tasks, including permitting, land control, and project management.
  • Monitor and draft public policy positions and stakeholder engagement documents from government agencies and key markets.
  • Support preparations for bid consultations, competitive analysis, and presentation preparation.

Goals of the Internship

  • Become familiar with the growing combination of solar energy and agriculture on the same land.
  • Learn about the issues that come up for and against projects and how to formulate arguments to maintain community support.
  • Gain knowledge of the multitude of tasks involved in project development and how our teams work together.
  • Develop skills in public affairs, including public policy development, legislative processes, and strategic communications.
  • Gain a wide spread knowledge of the renewable development process across wind, solar, and battery.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with experience working with various Office software applications.
  • Able to work as part of a team and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions

  • 100% time in office, utilizing computers. Potential to participate in some off-site team meetings or public project meetings.
