About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our renewable energy development team in Ontario and potentially other regions across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of agrivoltaic practices, including researching and summarizing materials, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Assist with community engagement activities, such as preparing articles, responding to comments, and drafting responses to community questions and concerns.
  • Contribute to various project development tasks, including permitting, land control, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor and draft public policy positions and stakeholder engagement documents from government agencies and key markets.
  • Support bid preparations, consultations, competitive analysis, presentation preparation, and communication management.

Goals of the Internship

  • Become familiar with the intersection of solar energy and agriculture, and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in this field.
  • Learn about the issues surrounding renewable energy project siting and develop arguments to support community engagement.
  • Gain knowledge of the project development process, including tasks, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Develop skills in public affairs, including public policy development, legislative processes, strategic communications, stakeholder management, and corporate brand and reputation management.
  • Acquire a wide range of knowledge on renewable energy development, including wind, solar, and battery technologies.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with various Office software applications.

Working Conditions

  • 100% time in office, utilizing computers. Potential to participate in some off-site team meetings or public project meetings.
