Staffing and Scheduling Specialist

Shannex Incorporated is seeking a skilled Staffing and Scheduling Specialist to join its Workforce Team in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
About the RoleThis is a Casual position that offers an estimated annual salary of $50,000 - $60,000 based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities- Book off employees according to established guidelines and Shannex policy.
- Fulfill vacant shifts due to immediate book offs, unfilled positions, vacations, holidays, and leaves of absences.
- Process requests for unplanned leaves and additional staffing.
- Maintain accurate records of employee hours worked, including agency staff if applicable.
- Handle short calls and emergency schedule changes.
- Plan schedules to meet operational requirements and minimize unnecessary overtime.
- Create, update, and modify work schedules for assigned regions within timelines.
- Verify schedules for accuracy prior to sharing with managers for review and sign-off.
- Secondary education or diploma in a related field.
- Previous experience in scheduling and staffing.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Previous experience with a computerized staffing system (Kronos) considered an asset.
- Demonstrated flexibility in a changing environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- High level of initiative and attention to detail.
- Working with minimal supervision.
- Listens effectively to others and responds appropriately.
- Ability to read and write in the English language.
