Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Description

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Registered Nurse to join our team in the provision of person-centered care to pediatric patients.

About This Role:

We are offering a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $114,500 per year, depending on experience.

  • This position requires graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • A minimum of one year's recent, related clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area is required.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to pediatric patients in a pediatric inpatient unit and/or select ambulatory day clinics. You will conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, identify risk factors, and develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments using clinical and diagnostic reasoning skills.
  2. Apply pediatric nursing theory and expertise to provide high-quality care to pediatric patients through appropriate interventions.
  3. Collaborate with members of the inter-professional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.
  4. Teach patients and families/care givers about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance.
  5. Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
