Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

Join our team at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS as a Peer Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with clients who are living with mental illness, addiction, or homelessness. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and guidance to these individuals, helping them to navigate the healthcare system and access the resources they need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build relationships with clients and provide consistent support
  • Assist clients in accessing healthcare services and resources
  • Provide education and support on mental health, addiction, and recovery
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop care plans
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities
Requirements:
  • Diploma in community social services or related field
  • 2 years of experience in mental health, addiction, or homelessness
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Class 5 Driver's License (preferred)
