Job Description

The Fund Taxation Manager will play a critical role in managing all fund taxation aspects for CI mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds, mutual fund corporations, and segregated funds.

This includes:

  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual tax distribution and allocation cycles for mutual funds, ETFs, and closed-end funds.
  • Reviewing and filing fund tax returns.
  • Managing year-end audits and CRA audits.
  • Ensuring tax documents are completed (W8 BENE, CRS, W9, tax IDs).
  • Developing and executing policies and procedures for fund taxation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Canadian Mutual Funds/ETFs, with various roles such as accountant, fund accounting manager, and portfolio administrator.
  • Experience with a wide variety of products, including structured products, closed-end funds, flow-through limited partnerships, ETFs, etc.
  • A strong understanding of fund accounting principles and practices, IFRS, and technical skills in Microsoft Office, MCH, and E-Horizon.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
