As a Financial Risk Manager within Export Development Canada's (EDC) Treasury department, you will play a critical role in supporting the team's mission to manage the Corporation's funding and liquidity risks.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and have experience in finance, economics, or a related field. They will be responsible for providing support to Treasury's portfolio managers in areas such as documentation, research, and analysis for funding, liquidity, foreign exchange, and asset/liability management functions.

You will be working closely with the Treasury team to develop innovative solutions for EDC's customers by leveraging your knowledge and expertise while contributing to the Corporation's financial sustainability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial risks and providing liquidity to the Corporation by analyzing, recommending, and/or transacting interest rate, foreign exchange, liquidity, funding, and capital management strategies.

In addition, they will provide analytical and technical support for treasury-related activities, monitor and evaluate capital market opportunities in relation to asset/liability structure and liquidity requirements, minimize the cost of capital, and optimize returns on liquidity while effectively mitigating risk.

The Financial Risk Manager will also be responsible for managing documentation requirements for treasury-related activities by drafting or revising documents and liaising with internal and external business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Treasury team on transactions to provide funding or liquidity to the Corporation
  • Prepares material for investor and other Treasury presentations
  • Assists with assessing key risk elements and works with other portfolio managers to develop strategies to mitigate these risks
  • Assists in monitoring capital market opportunities
  • Research relevant capital market information to support the formulation of pricing and funding strategies
  • Provides on-going support to EDC's business teams for Treasury-related questions
  • Works with EDC's business teams to provide support on new and evolving products
  • Works to enhance Treasury and Treasury-related processes
  • Supports and maintains Treasury procedural and process-related documentation and its accessibility.
  • Develops and maintains business relationships with banks, investment dealers, and peers in the capital and money markets

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics, or equivalent with strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a finance, economic, risk management, or international business environment

Compensation Details:

  • The estimated salary range for this position is $62,336 to $83,116 per annum, based on qualifications and experience
