Medical Secretary II - Genetics Program

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary II to join our Genetics Program team at North York General Hospital. As a Medical Secretary II, you will provide administrative support to Medical Geneticists and counselling staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process patient referrals, schedule appointments, and coordinate patient care
  • Initiate billing processes and follow up as needed
  • Respond to telephone inquiries in a professional and sensitive manner
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents as required
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and arrange equipment and supplies

Requirements:

  • Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Secretary Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years secretarial experience in a medical environment, preferably in a hospital ambulatory setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and computer software
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
