We are seeking a skilled Long Term Care Nursing Professional to join our team in Ottawa, ON. As a key member of our Community & Social Services Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in long-term care settings.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering holistic resident care through the administration and supervision of the Nursing Program and staff in a designated area. This includes providing specialized, restorative, supportive, and palliative care to individuals with dementia, disabilities, and health problems who require ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and supervise the Nursing Program and staff in a designated area
  • Provide quality, holistic resident care that meets the needs of each individual
  • Develop and implement nursing plans to ensure optimal resident outcomes
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of resident care

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a geriatric-gerontology or long-term care setting
  • Post-basic preparation in gerontology is desirable
  • Membership in Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) is desirable
  • Certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $46.072 - $56.059 per hour (2024 rates of pay). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
