Job Title: Registered NurseJob Summary

Floral Long Term Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in defining, maintaining, and interpreting standards of practice in a long-term care setting.

  • Perform required skills, including assessment and intervention, according to established guidelines, policies, and procedures.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary committees that influence or determine policies affecting nursing practice.

  • Follow facility procedures and protocols for admitting residents, transferring to hospitals or clinics, and completing appropriate documentation.

  • Make rounds on all resident rooms and ensure that LPNs, CNAs, and other staff receive resident reports, have their assignments, and scheduled break times.

  • Assist the LPN in establishing routines that facilitate a high level of nursing practice.

  • Receive and give reports from and to outgoing and incoming shifts, and count or ensure the counting of controlled drugs.

  • Coordinate and prepare MDS schedules for quarterly, annual, and significant change assessments.

  • Complete MDS Booklets as per schedule, including nursing sections.

  • Review and sign off on all completed MDS and RAP Summaries.

  • Develop care plans that demonstrate knowledge of criteria to ascertain resident-specific needs based on healthcare problems.

  • Make needed revisions and updates to care plans.

  • Ensure care plans are carried out, demonstrating familiarity with criteria to establish priorities specific to anticipated outcomes.

  • Monitor the provision of care for residents in your assigned unit.

  • Interpret the philosophy and objectives of nursing service to residents, families, and others.

  • Identify resident/family learning needs based on the discharge care plan and carry out appropriate teaching.

  • Demonstrate the ability to coordinate and collaborate with residents, families, and other members of the comprehensive healthcare team.

  • Monitor the administration and accurate recording of medications used.

  • Investigate and follow through on medication errors.

  • Notify physicians of pertinent observations, reactions, incidents, and abnormal laboratory and x-ray results, and document same promptly.

  • Transcribe physician orders timely and ensure orders are implemented as appropriate.

  • Report all resident, visitor, and work-related accidents/injuries and demonstrate appropriate follow-through by investigating, documenting, and processing incident reports.

  • Accept guidance, supervision, and criticism if needed.

  • Practice in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory agencies' regulations.

  • Assure that a stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc. are maintained at adequate levels at all times.

  • Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing your nursing shifts.

  • Perform other responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate or as may be directed by the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • M.S./B.S. or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Nursing experience that has acquired clinical competence and strong leadership skills.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of and appreciation of the aging process.

  • Ability to be self-directive in delegated areas of responsibility.

Salary: Up to $40 an hour
