Job Title: Health Care Aide - Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our inpatient psychiatry team at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients with mental health needs, working collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to patients, including assistance with daily living activities, hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Assist with the provision of routine care to meet patients' needs, including vital sign monitoring, recreation, and psychosocial support.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide a stable and trustworthy environment.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
  • Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to establish relationships built on mutual respect, empathy, and compassion.
  • 3-5 years' experience in an acute mental health unit or continuing care.
  • Certificate in mental health and PIECES training.
