Health Care Aide

As a Health Care Aide with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing personal assistance to patients who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to provide routine care and meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal assistance to patients, including supporting activities of daily living and support services.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assist nurses with the provision of routine care, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
Requirements:
- Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
- Healthcare Provider certification required.
- Member of the Health Care Aide directory.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide Course (or equivalent).
- Medical Terminology course required.
- Current BCLS-HCP taken within the last 12 months, issued from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) only.
