About the Position:

The Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse to join its Float Team. As a member of this dynamic team, you will provide critical care support to various nursing units and departments within the hospital, responding to increasing acuity needs and replacing short-notice requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and manage critical care situations in various nursing units and departments
  • Provide support and resources to nursing teams as needed
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Meet the physical and emotional demands of the job, including lifting and moving patients

Requirements:

  • Current R.N. General Class Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • BScN preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an acute care and critical care setting
  • Current BCLS certification and completed IV training
  • Completion of the Coronary Care 1 certificate or equivalent within the last two (2) years
  • Successful completion of a Patient Assessment Course within the past three (3) years
  • Experience caring for patients with ventilators, BIPAP, special line care, peritoneal dialysis, and CVP
