Join Our Team as a Commercial Property Underwriter II

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements according to established guidelines.
  • Develop solutions for moderately complex underwriting problems.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with brokers, including visits as required.
  • Respond to broker requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Rate and price complex commercial risks using sound underwriting judgment.
  • Participate in production calls with agents and brokers, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on company and industry underwriting policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide exceptional underwriting expertise to agents and brokers.
  • Develop underwriting solutions for complex risks.
  • Accompany brokers on field underwriting of accounts, as required.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal staff and agents/brokers.
  • Conduct individual commercial policy and portfolio audits.
  • Assist in market research and product development activities.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience in property and casualty insurance underwriting.
  • CIP and/or post-secondary education or university degree with partial completion of CIP designation is preferred.
  • FCIP or CRM is preferred.
