Underwriting Solutions Analyst

Join Heartland Mutual Insurance in our Actuarial Department as an Underwriting Solutions Analyst. This exciting opportunity will challenge you to identify, design, and provide Underwriting and Business Development solutions to systems and projects, delivering tangible business value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Underwriting and Business Development solutions to deliver tangible value.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting & Business Development units to identify and document business and system improvements.
  • Provide business specifications for actuarial rate reviews and work with IT to create requirements for business and system improvements.
  • Communicate and coach Underwriting & Business Development units on system functionality and business intent.
  • Maintain a log of future improvements and clearly communicate business value and expected benefits.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry in a Business Systems Analyst, underwriting, or underwriting-related role.
  • GuideWire Policy Center Certification is an asset.
  • Proven ability to create and deliver insurance solutions, specifically with Underwriting rules, rating, and/or activities/workflows.
  • Critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, investigate issues, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions, and propose solutions.
