Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nursing Professional. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams. You will have a strong understanding of nursing practices, policies, and procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and educational programs
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of solutions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Deals with others in an effective, compassionate and supportive manner
  • Respects each resident as an individual and is aware of his/her need for self-respect and privacy, and the right to share in decisions about his/her care
  • Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department
  • Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests)
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • Clear Criminal Record check
