Financial Services Administrator Role

As a Financial Services Administrator with the Canadian Armed Forces, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization. Your financial expertise will be utilized to provide support to military activities, including financial administration, general office bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable support, and budget management services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial assistance and budget resources support to all military activities
  • Administer financial services, including general office bookkeeping and accounts payable and accounts receivable support
  • Manage budgets and business plans to ensure efficient financial operations

Requirements

  • Be a Canadian citizen
  • Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent)
  • Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quebec

Work Environment

As a Financial Services Administrator, you will be employed at various CAF bases in Canada, on ships, and overseas, in support of Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, or Royal Canadian Air Force operations. You may also serve in special operation units, medical organizations, recruiting offices, schools, reserve units, NATO/UN positions, and other specialized units throughout the CAF.

Training and Development

You will undergo Basic Military Qualification training, followed by Basic Occupational Qualification Training at the Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre in Borden, Ontario. This training will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your role as a Financial Services Administrator.

Specialty Training

As you progress in your career, you may be offered the opportunity to develop specialized skills through formal courses and/or on-the-job training, including cashier, non-public funds administration, aviation petroleum, oil, and lubrication financial administration, compliance and verification, verification manager, business planning, and civilian personnel management.
