Financial Services Coordinator

Are you detail-oriented and organized? Do you enjoy working with numbers and financial data? As a Financial Services Administrator with the Canadian Armed Forces, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide financial administration and services to support military operations
- Manage general office bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Assist with budget management and financial planning
- Process vendor invoices, payables, and receivables
- Initiate, process, and finalize claims
- Administer support to operations and personnel management
- Reconcile departmental travel expenditures and provide financial support to members
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent)
- Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quebec
Financial Services Administrators are employed at all CAF bases in Canada, on ships, and overseas, in support of Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, or Royal Canadian Air Force operations.
They may also serve in special operation units, medical organizations, recruiting offices, schools, reserve units, NATO/UN positions, and other specialized units throughout the CAF.
Training and Development:The first stage of training is the Basic Military Qualification course, or Basic Training, held at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, or through various training establishments across Canada.
Financial Services Administrators attend the Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre in Borden, Ontario, for approximately 12 weeks of training, which includes briefing on financial authority, regulations, and financial structure, accounting, processing vendor invoices, payables, and receivables, and administering support to operations.
Specialty training may be offered through formal courses and/or on-the-job training, including cashier, non-public funds administration, aviation petroleum, oil, and lubrication financial administration, compliance, and verification.
Advanced training may be offered as they progress in their career, including verification manager, business planning, and civilian personnel management.
The minimum required education to apply for this position is the completion of the provincial requirements for Grade 10 or Secondary IV in Quebec with Grade 10 Applied Math and Grade 10 English or French.
Basic training and military occupation training are required before being assigned.
Please note that, if successful in the application process, you will be entering service in either the Regular Force (full-time employment) or Primary Reserve Force (part-time employment) of the Canadian Armed Forces as a military member.
