About the Role

As a key member of the Thomson Reuters team, we are seeking a highly skilled Legal Operations Manager to join our General Counsel's Office. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to drive operational excellence and strategic growth within our legal department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective technology and innovation roadmaps to enhance our legal operations, including eBilling, workflow automation, and document management.
  • Partner with procurement, accounts payable, and other stakeholders to optimize vendor and outside counsel management, ensuring value and efficiency in our relationships.
  • Lead the development and management of the General Counsel's Office annual operating plan, including forecasting and accruals, and participate in strategic planning to determine future headcount and spend.
  • Drive maturity in data and analytics, particularly within our Commercial practice group, and develop dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation initiatives.

About You

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of five years of experience in business/operations management, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department. Your background should include:

  • Proven experience in managing technology and change management strategies to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Deep understanding of financial and budget processes, including monthly and quarterly close procedures, forecasts, and accruals.
  • Strong change management and agility practices, with a bias toward speed and execution.
  • Ability to influence and leverage relationships within and outside the General Counsel's Office.
  • Results-oriented with superior project management and organizational skills, and a strong ability to execute on required deliverables.
