About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Foster Care Support Worker to join our team at Wood's Homes. As a key member of our Foster Care Network Program, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic and support services to children, youth, and their foster families.

Job Description

This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of our Foster Care Network Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting foster families, as well as facilitating access to clinically based care, individual intervention, system coordination, and crisis support.

The primary focus of this role is with Foster Care, but the Support Worker may also be deployed in education, residential, or community services. A key requirement is to demonstrate exceptional delivery of high-quality services and adherence to the Health and Safety Management System at Wood's Homes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-home and crisis support to foster families and youth.
  • Review referrals, make placement recommendations, and attend meetings as required by immediate supervisor.
  • Coordinate and facilitate various systems meetings, including case conferences and planning meetings.
  • Represent the program and network with other programs and organizations to enhance understanding of the Foster Care Network.
  • Complete all required health and safety training.
  • Report workplace hazards, unsafe or unhealthy conditions, or incidents to their direct supervisor.
  • Share the values of Wood's Homes.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in one of the Human Sciences, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Minimum four years' experience working with children and/or adolescents and families.
  • In-home support experience preferred.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license and own transportation.
  • Personal suitability.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience.
