Job Description

Lawson Products is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Manager of Product Management & Sourcing. This position is responsible for identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to drive revenue growth, cost savings, and margin improvement in the Canadian market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Offering Strategy: Define and manage the nuances of the Canadian product offering, ensuring it meets country-specific objectives.
  • Business Planning: Prepare business plans for product additions and manage the lifecycle of the product offering.
  • Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement a sourcing strategy that balances cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research and analyze market data to identify opportunities and threats that could impact the product offering.
  • Pricing and Branding: Implement pricing and branding strategies to optimize revenue, margin, and inventory.
  • Product Assortment: Refine the product assortment to fit customer needs and company goals.
  • Vendor Management: Ensure a stable and quality vendor base, negotiating optimal product quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
  • Market Awareness: Create and participate in promotional campaigns to increase product awareness and market share.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Review, maintain, and report on product categories.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7 years of multi-functional supply chain, purchasing, and/or product management experience in a distribution or manufacturing company.
  • Certifications: APICS Certified (CPIM) or equivalent.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, ability to utilize data to solve issues or improve processes, and experience using ERP systems.
  • Communication: Ability to professionally present findings and recommendations to senior executives and guide and influence all levels of the organization.
