Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Account Manager. As an experienced group benefits expert, you will be responsible for managing and retaining assigned blocks of business. This includes plan design, cost containment initiatives, renewals, reporting, client questions, and service deliveries.

You will work closely with the implementation specialist, sales consultants/broker, underwriter, and client service specialist to set up new groups. Your responsibilities will also include supporting clients with claims, administration, enrollment, and calls. Additionally, you will work directly with insurers and representatives to ensure all administrative requirements and requests are completed to meet client needs.

You will conduct in-person client service meetings with all new and existing groups, and provide Plan Member education sessions when requested. You will also ensure necessary tools, benchmarking, and renewal reports are prepared and delivered to clients. Furthermore, you will develop communications required for plan sponsors and their employees where necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) relevant to Commerce or Business Administration
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in group benefits in a client-facing role
  • Understanding of the group benefits industry including funding arrangements
  • Completion or the ability to complete CEBS/GBA and/or Life License Qualification Program (LLQP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and general office equipment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service focused, with the ability to work alongside the new business development process
  • A solution and results-oriented individual who demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified in a timely manner
  • Valid driver's license and consistent access to a vehicle
  • Previous experience working with U.S. and/or international group benefits plans would be an asset
