Carpenter Job Description

R.A.M CONTRACTING LTD is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create structures and fixtures.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on carpentry techniques.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Work Environment:

The Carpenter will work in a variety of settings, including residential and commercial construction sites, mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants. The work environment will be physically demanding, with frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.

Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
