We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to join our Applications & Systems group in the Research & Innovation department of Veolia WTS. The successful candidate will have a background in wastewater treatment design/modeling and experience in the development of data driven/hybrid models in this field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explore and align hybrid modeling developments in our research group, combining existing datasets and new mechanistic models with data driven models, around ZeeWeed-MBR and ZeeLung-MABR products and applications.
  • Lead research on biological selection, physical bioselection, suspended/biofilm growths, gas molecular diffusion and ultrafiltration membranes, including GHG emissions assessments with existing and new biologies.
  • Collaborate with R&D project managers/program leaders and implement gap analysis from extensive datasets to find new ways to predict and increase performance (opex, GHG, capex, resilience...) with hybrid/data driven models (DL, ML, AI).

Requirements

  • Master degree in Water, Environmental Sciences and/or related fields.
  • First hand experience(s) with both mechanistic and data driven (ML, AI) modeling in the field of Water treatment (academic, operation, consulting or technology practitioners).
  • 8+ years of experience in the wastewater treatment or related industry.
