Job Description

The Child Care and Kitchen Specialist will be responsible for providing healthy and child-friendly meals and snacks that meet the needs of all children in accordance with the Centre's approved menu.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ingredients for daily meals;
  • Monitor cooking times and remove cooked dishes as needed;
  • Maintain food levels and restock items as required;
  • Deliver meals according to the designated schedule;
  • Receive incoming food orders and rotate stock;
  • Serve meals at mealtimes as necessary;
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment;
  • Ensure indoor and outdoor areas are free of hazards;
  • Respond to incidents and handle emergencies appropriately if they occur.
Requirements:
  • Recognized 40-hour course;
  • Minimum one year's experience as a Child Care Assistant or relevant role with demonstrated ability to deliver programs and services;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate;
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual;
  • Valid 1st Aid/CPR Certification;
  • Circle of Security Certificate an asset;
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check;
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, heritage, and language an asset;
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
