We are seeking a highly skilled ASL-English Interpreter to join our team at the Ontario Ministry of Education. As an ASL-English Interpreter, you will play a critical role in providing interpreting services for Deaf students and staff in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide interpreting services for Deaf students and staff in educational and resource services programs.
  • Interpret for administrative and professional staff in sensitive and demanding situations.
  • Provide interpreting services for training sessions and workshops.
  • Be available to work on-call hours as required.
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in ASL-English Interpreting.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational, and professional settings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Professional Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI).
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting in both small and large group settings.
