About the Role:

The Continuing Care Assistant Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in the Continuing Care Assistant Progressive Education program. This includes utilizing various teaching strategies, techniques, and delivery methods to meet the individual learning styles of students in a safe and civil learning environment. Instructors are accountable for teaching assigned courses in accordance with course competencies, taking daily attendance, and grading class tests, assignments, and exams as required. Additionally, they will stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends to enhance the learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver quality instruction to students in the Continuing Care Assistant Progressive Education program
- Utilize various teaching strategies, techniques, and delivery methods to meet individual learning styles
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with course competencies
- Take daily attendance and grade class tests, assignments, and exams as required
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends to enhance the learning experience

Requirements:

- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of practical work experience working with Continuing Care Assistants
- Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
- Demonstrated leadership skills including supervision, motivation, and facilitation are preferred
- Superior communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
