As a dynamic and strategic Vice President, Real Estate Development, you will lead our real estate initiatives and drive the growth of our senior living portfolio. This role will oversee the planning, development, and densification of new senior living projects, as well as the overall execution and real estate acquisition due diligence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Municipal and Various Authority Planning Navigation & Approvals: Navigate and achieve all project Municipal, Local or Relevant Authority approvals and oversee the delivery of all real estate project construction activities.
  • Project Construction Leadership & Oversight: Manage various consultants, direct building plans, project plans, legal documents, financial analysis, and submissions in accordance with project schedules.
  • Internal Growth – Existing Property Intensification: Develop project budgets and assumptions, manage to budget and schedule upon project execution, and monitor building and construction activity reporting on costs, schedule, variances, and other to ensure projects are in accordance with specification, delivery expectations, and ready for occupancy.
  • New Development Opportunities – Sourcing, Due Diligence & Feasibility: Liaise with development, construction, and Joint Venture partners on all approved development projects focusing on the development of retirement residences and seniors living campuses.
  • Acquisition Opportunities – Due Diligence: Evaluate potential development sites for land acquisition in accordance with the company's identified locations for seniors living campuses and retirement residences.
Requirements:
  • At least 15 years of experience in real estate, covering areas like acquisitions and dispositions, land development, and operations.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Economics, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and engage team members effectively.
  • Experience obtaining municipal approvals, including zoning, site plans, variances, land conveyance, and land valuation.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Proven ability to conduct project feasibility assessments and due diligence, including creating project proformas.
  • A proven track record in leading large-scale, multi-million-dollar real estate development projects from start to finish, particularly with a focus on regulatory compliance, delivering on time, and staying within budget.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Possess a solid track record in developing and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
