NLP/GenAI Machine Learning Expert

Altea Healthcare is a leading healthcare organization committed to revolutionizing the delivery of outpatient/post-acute care. We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer with deep subject matter expertise in NLP/GenAI Foundation Models to contribute significantly to designing, implementing, and deploying GenAI applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and Develop NLP, ML & AI Products: Develop the next generation of NLP, ML & AI products and services for healthcare, working with MLEs and software engineers to ship them into production.
- Improve Processes and Tools: Improve processes and tools to generate ground truth for building models.
- Model Evaluation: Lead the model evaluation processes that ensure accuracy, fairness, and reproducibility.
- Implement Novel LM Approaches: Implement and design novel LM approaches inspired by relevant literature.
- Stay Up-to-Date with the Latest Advancements: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field and implement state-of-the-art models from the literature for benchmarking.
- Document Model Architectures: Document model architectures, design decisions, and codebase to facilitate future maintenance and enhancements.
- Master's or PhD Degree: Master's or PhD degree in ML, NLP, information retrieval, or a related field.
- Experience with State-of-the-Art NLP Algorithms: Experience with state-of-the-art NLP algorithms and AI models.
- Demonstrated Experience with LLM Techniques: Demonstrated experience with LLM techniques, including prompt optimization and parameter-efficient fine-tuning.
- Demonstrated Experience Building Foundation Models: Demonstrated experience building foundation models.
- 3+ Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience training/pre-training/fine-tuning NLP/GenAI models.
- Demonstrated Experience Experimenting/Building Architecture Layers: Demonstrated experience experimenting/building architecture layers in neural networks and constructing customized loss functions.
- Demonstrated Experience with RAG, Model Distillation, and RLHF: Demonstrated experience with RAG, model distillation, reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF).
- Experience with Small and Large Language Models: Experience with small and large language models, and multi-modal LLMs.
- Familiarity with NLP Similarity Metrics and LLM-Based Evaluation Frameworks: Familiarity with NLP similarity metrics and LLM-based evaluation frameworks (RAGAS).
- Extensive Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch: Extensive experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch, HuggingFace, Transformers, LangChain, vectorDB and cloud platforms (Azure).
- Ability to Work Independently and Collaboratively: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results within project timelines.
- Experience with the Full ML System Development, Deployment, and Maintenance Lifecycle: Experience with the full ML system development, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle is a plus.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR): Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus.
- Experience with Medical BERT-Based Models: Experience with medical BERT-based models is a plus (e.g., ClinicalBERT, MedBERT, bioClinicalROBERTa).
