Waterloo, Ontario, Canada OTIP (Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan) Full time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to join our team at OTIP. As a key member of our Client Relations department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Account Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Stakeholder and Plan Sponsor Support (75%)
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local affiliate representatives, plan sponsors, and affiliate governance committees.
    • Develop and implement annual account management strategies for assigned block of accounts.
    • Coordinate and facilitate regular file review meetings with local leaders, board personnel, and plan sponsors.
    • Coordinate and lead scheduled LTD governance committee meetings for assigned provincial affiliate(s).
    • Provide expert guidance and training to local affiliate leaders and representatives, plan sponsors, and their staff on Self-Insured LTD plans.
    • Provide support and expertise as required for member-level escalations in collaboration with Group Life and Disability Claims team.
    • Communicate and coordinate annual Self-Insured LTD plan renewals for assigned affiliate plan(s) to locals and boards.
    • Negotiate and prepare annual renewals for non-affiliate plan sponsors (either directly or through appointed Advisors).
  • Business Development (10%)
    • Collaborate with OTIP leadership, local and board representatives, and the Principal Consultant – Self-Insured Services to identify and pursue opportunities for expanding the OTIP Self-Insured LTD Plan.
    • Share intelligence and collaborate with OTIP's Marketing and Business Development team to identify opportunities for cross-service.
    • Represent OTIP at industry and education sector conferences and events.
  • Local Issue Analysis (10%)
    • Analyze and report emerging local issues and trends that may impact current and future service requirements.
    • Report on local political issues, including turnover, potential moves from local to provincial leadership, and issues that may negatively impact the OTIP brand.
    • Recommend enhancements for specific leaders or locals to ensure positive perception of the OTIP brand.
  • Additional Responsibilities (5%)
    • Provide coverage for other Senior Account Managers (LTD/ELHT) as required.
    • Represent Client Relations on internal and external project teams and working groups as required.
