### Job Summary

As a Railway Fleet Engineer Manager at Canadian National Railway, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a diverse fleet of specialized vehicles, ensuring they meet the requirements of our internal customers. In this position, you will serve as a Program Manager for a portion of our annual Vehicle Replacement Program, collaborating with Fleet Management Officers to identify and create the budget. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and approving supplier vehicle drawings, handling vendor performance, and overseeing the delivery and user training of vehicles.

### Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with Fleet Management Officers to identify and create the budget for the annual vehicle replacement program.
- Work with vendors to establish priorities and timelines, reviewing and approving supplier vehicle drawings.
- Handle vendor performance, ensuring compliance to timeline, budget, and specification.
- Review and approve vehicle drawings, submitting Purchase Orders (POs) change requests.
- Collaborate with vendors and Fleet Management Officers to arrange vehicle delivery and user training.

### Technical Support

- Provide technical support to Fleet Management Officers, Vehicle Repair Authorization Centre, vendors, and users.
- Work with vendors to resolve performance, reliability, or safety issues.
- Approve all modifications to vehicles, performing and leading failure analysis and corrective action.
- Serve as an escalation point for Fleet Management Officers and Repair Authorization Centre for warranty claims.
- Conduct on-site audits of vendors as required.

### Vehicle Specifications

- Develop and maintain vehicle specifications to provide the field with a vehicle that meets operational requirements, is cost-effective, and meets regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with users to define and document requirements, including site visits and ride-alongs to understand needs.
- Liaise with Procurement and Supply Management to issue specifications to vendors for Request for Quotes (RFQs).
- Conduct vehicle specification reviews as required.

### Vehicle Technology and Telematics

- Provide system support for vehicle telematics programs, including training, support, and specific reports.
- Handle the health of telematics devices, exploring new technologies to maximize vehicle Return on Investment (ROI) and safety.
- Perform or lead component and vehicle testing, developing data analysis tools.

### Working Conditions

- Work in a standard office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.
- Meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.
- Minimal travel (up to 20%) to visit sites within Canada and the United States.

### Requirements

- Experience: 3-5 years in Engineering, preferably in utility-type fleet vehicles.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French).

### Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
